Melissa’s journey into neurodiversity began at just 17 years old while working at a summer camp. From the first day, she encountered an experience that would shape her path.
The neurotypical campers she was assigned to struggled to connect with her—perhaps unsure how to respond to her limb difference, having been born without fingers on one hand.
On day two, her placement was changed, and she was assigned to support nonspeaking autistic campers. That day sparked a lifelong dedication to seeing and supporting people as they truly are, from inside to out.
At Minds Unstuck, this spirit lives at the core of our work. We believe that real growth is built from seeking the deepest understanding. What we see on the outside isn’t the full story.
We walk alongside all of the autistic, neuro-different and nonspeaking individuals, their families and their team members. Our support is designed with you all in mind.
For too long, autistic, nonspeaking, and neuro-different people have been misunderstood. We now know so much more about what real support should feel like.
Minds Unstuck is here to help build a bridge—between the ‘different’ and the ‘normal’, the speaking and the nonspeaking, the internal and external, and the old and the new.
We Work For The Whole—
the whole person, whole community,
and we want to help change the whole picture.
What we do and how we do it matters.
PART OF A MEANINGFUL MOVEMENT TO SHOW YOU UNDERSTAND.
