SUPPORTS AND SERVICES
Dr. Barry Prizant
Regulation involves the sensory responses in the nervous system that impact movement, or 'behavior'. We guide you in understanding and supporting regulation in your family's lifestyle.
Communication challenges occur because of sensory-motor differences. We want your child to have access to multi-modal, text-based methods, and we help you learn how to do that.
Meaningful connections are so important for all of us. We aim to be a bridge for your child's relationships with both you and the rest of their world.
Parents of autistic/N.D. students often have to spend time and attention collaborating with their child's school team. We strategize with you so that your child can have the right supports in place in their classroom.
Establishing habits, schedules and routines are essential for stability, well-being and growth. We help you create and maintain the structures that work best for you, so that you and your child can both meet your goals.
We integrate all of this expertise, so that we can give you support as comprehensive as you want. It's important to us to be able to meet the diverse and unique needs of each individual and their family.
MEANINGFUL SUPPORT BY THE SESSION
We provide individualized, one-on-one support that is sensitive to your needs.
We meet with you and your child together, to collaborate and offer our guidance, live.
We bring the community together to discuss topics and tools for meaningful support.
MEANINGFUL BUNDLES OF SUPPORT
Parent support is foundational. We meet with you for Parent Sessions ongoing for a period of time, where we consistently support you to feel equipped with meaningful knowledge and strategies towards achieving your goals with/for your child.
We help you integrate the changes you want to make by meeting together both with and without your child present. When Parent and Shared Sessions are both in place consistently, it creates meaningful collaboration towards the growth that is important to you.
In addition to Parent and Shared Sessions over time, we develop and provide resources, materials, and organizational tools to support you completely in creating the most meaningful change possible.
MEANINGFUL ABA PROGRAMS AND GUIDANCE
ABA is an ongoing process of assessment, therapy, and re-assessment, driven by specific, measurable goals. When implemented meaningfully, with respect for sensory and motor differences, and with methods that prioritize individual strengths, it can be highly effective. Our programs account for the brain-body disconnect, emphasize autonomy, and are designed by presuming competence in everyone's ability to learn.
ABA isn't commonly recognized for providing neurodiversity-affirming care. What we do and how we do it matters. This is the way that ABA can feel like a meaningful support to people. As a practitioner, you can develop that approach if you seek out the experiences and mentorship that will guide you there. Whether you are an RBT, BCaBA, BCBA or aspiring to be any of the above, we would love to mentor you to be part of making meaningful neurodevelopmental support mainstreamed through ABA.
We collaborate with other ABA practitioners to enhance specific programs for families, offering expert consultation to ensure neuro-affirming practices are integrated. We help to develop tailored strategies that promote meaningful, individualized care and thoughtful, effective solutions that align with a holistic, respectful approach to neurodevelopment. This can be scheduled by the family or practitioners.
